I use Outlook Express (since I carry around my laptop wherever I go) - and I'm not a big fan of the webmail interface for LTU email (I know you can change the "skins", etc. - but I'm stuck in my ways). If you don't want to use OE (and if you do, you should check out this page) - and if you don't want to use the webmail interface - what are your options? Well, you could forward your email away from webmail to another address - here are the steps!
Step 1) Log on to postoffice.ltu.edu

Step 2) Select the RULES button near the top (the image changes depending on which "skin" you have)
or it might look like this ...
Step 3) Click the "REDIRECT" checkbox, fill in your address(s) [I'm pretty sure that multiple addresses have to be separated by commas.]
Suggestions for the other checkboxes: I would check the "PRESERVE" box, but NOT check the "automatic" box (if you do, you won't get mailing list emails forwarded - even if you subscribed legitimately). As for the "keep a copy" - that's your choice. It is "safe" to check it, but that means you'll have to periodically go clean out the mailbox. But, if you don't check it - if your service provider doesn't capture the forward properly, you won't have a backup. To be safe, you might want to check it initially to make sure everything is coming over (send yourself a test message from outside of webmail) and then uncheck it later if you are happy.
Step 4) At that point, all the mail should forward, and stay forwarding (but if for some reason you think messages are not coming over - send yourself a test message to find out).
